Name five cultural barriers to creativity. What do you think these would keep a group from being creative? Have you experienced any of these personally? Explain
Five cultural barriers to creativity are Race, Religion, Language, requirements of conformity, and expectations of politeness and following social rules. These things would keep a group from being creative because they literally might not understand each other due to language barriers. Also they might not feel comfortable talking about certain things because of their religion or race. This happens all the time when I'm place in groups and class to do group work sometimes I literally cant understand what the other person is saying or they don't understand what I am saying. Or when I go to the nail shop to get my nails done and I try to explain a design that I want on my nails sometimes it takes they lady who does my nails a while to figure out what I am saying. She even told me that the way I speak English is different from they way she learn how to speak English and I really don't understand what that means.
Hey there I thought you brought up an interesting personal experience with a cultural barrier of language in communication. I was really thinking about what you said the lady told you in relation to language and how it is possible that she is familiar with English being spoken by people who may all speak it a similar way so when she crosses paths with someone who speaks differently than what she is used to she has a harder time interpreting this. I have experienced this before while learning Spanish. There was a student in my class who had a really high grade and always knew the answers to any question the teacher would ask, but when she spoke Spanish to him he could never understand what she was saying. You brought up some good points about being in groups where some people have hard time understanding each other. I think we all have been in situations where someone is not understanding us or we are not understanding them.
