chapter 12 question 2

Briefly outline an example of collaborative conflict resolution that you have engaged in. Contrast that with competitive conflict. Which was more satisfying to you? To the other party?

well conflict resolution is defined as a win-win group situation. I like the fact that this approach assumes that no one person is smarter then anyone else in the group. Recently I engaged in a conflict resolution trying to come up with a question for a group project that I have to do for another communications class. Everyone in the group were thinking of different questions except a few people. Then once we all each had are separate questions we had to combine everyones idea into one. Which really wasn't that difficult due to the fact that are questions were similar. This was a situation that turned out to be a win- win I just hope that the rest of the project turns out to be this easy. A competitive conflict I had recently at work we were trying to think of new activities for kids to do after the finish their homework and I suggested dodge ball and one of the other staff members said that it was too dangerous but in my class we play dodge ball all the time. Then she was like oh we should ban dodge ball but it didn't happen.
